Co-Create NYC Parks
Pratt Institute, 2021
Although NYC parks are mainstays for the cultivation of local communities, to the general population, park building and maintenance decisions take place behind a dark curtain. The everyday park-goer is excluded from the opportunity to take part in the design of their own community grounds.
I created a tool for park-goers to contribute, collaborate, and co-create McCarren park. This tool provides a way for individuals to share ideas and experiences. In an imagined future world, this tool might lead to the transformation of parks so that they are curated by their most relevant stakeholders— their users.

Interactive Kiosk: individuals can interact with the map (draw on top of it, use stickers, jot down notes), and upload ideas to the conglomorate website.

Website: The website shows content uploaded from the park kiosk

Postcards: Mailers with blank maps on the front and space to write on the back allow individuals to contibute outside of a digital setting and from the comfort of their own homes

Urban Posters & Sticker Maps: placed around the park, these allow another touchpoint for interaction. I illustrated stickers for people to place directly on the map.
